"The Matrix" is a science fiction movie that was released in 1999. If you have not seen the film, it follows the story of Neo, a computer programmer who discovers that his reality is actually a simulated world called "The Matrix," created by advanced artificial intelligence machines to enslave humanity. Neo is approached by a group of rebels led by a man named Morpheus, who believes that Neo is the prophesied "One" who can defeat the machines and free humanity from their control. With the help of Morpheus and his crew, Neo awakens to the truth of his world and learns how to manipulate the Matrix's reality-bending rules, becoming a skilled fighter and ultimately facing off against the agents of the Matrix, who are sent to hunt him down and stop him. “The Matrix" is known for its philosophical themes, exploring questions of free will, reality, and the nature of existence.

“The Matrix” presents very relevant questions twenty-four years later about the relationship between technology and humanity? What is the nature of reality? Is what we perceive as real actually real? What is free will? Do we have control over our lives? What is the role of choice in shaping our lives? What is the meaning of identity? Is our identity defined by external factors, or is it something that we create for ourselves?
“The Matrix” is a metaphor for the struggles we face as humans and how that struggle becomes even more complex in the world of AI which is beginning to show us how our reality can be framed and twisted so that what we think is real is a reality created by technology. This is not new. Our perception of reality is constantly influenced by our beliefs and feelings that we use to make our reality what we want it to be. Consequently, we have always enjoyed and suffered the differences in our diverse realities. Adding the sometimes confusing realities created by AI exponentially adds to our enjoyment and suffering as we pursue our quest for what is real and what is not.
