About Sam J. Sligar

Individuals often seek counseling during periods when life unfolds in ways they never anticipated, and recently, this has become a shared reality for all of us. In these challenging times, many have endured various forms of pain and trauma, with relationships bearing a significant brunt. Drawing upon over 40 years of experience as a therapist and 15 years on the clinical faculty in a university setting, Sam Sligar, a Pastoral Psychotherapist and a Licensed LMFT, offers a secure haven—a caring sanctuary. Here, individuals can engage in open dialogue, exploring themselves and their relationships, with the goal of gaining clarity, understanding, and direction.

The foundation for healing in counseling is established through a trusting and consistent therapeutic relationship. While human suffering and pain are part of the human experience, feelings of being overwhelmed, confused, and lost are not uncommon. Sam's approach involves aiding individuals in finding their path by allowing them to guide him in understanding who they are and what they require.  This collaborative journey sets both parties on a path of continued learning and exploration.
